Becoming an Electrician
Sometimes, you forget how much of daily life is dependent on electricity - until the electricity goes out! Then, you call an electrician. An electrician performs a wide variety of jobs that may include repairs, routine maintenance, or disaster prevention. One day, he or she might install wiring on a new house. THe next day, he or she might replace wiring in an older house. Jobs can be as simple as replacing a fuse or as complicated as restoring an industrial machine. Aslo, electricians may work under many different conditions, including in a dark basement or at the top of an electrical tower. Advice from an experienced electrician is, "Open up your mind." You never know what kind of job is waiting for you around the corner, because every day brings stranger and more interesting challenges.
